Jogging : An Alternative Sport with 'NO' Budget

Most people like sport. Sport is not only fun to do but it is also good for us. Playing sport keeps us healthy and let us exercise our body. There are many kinds of sports. One of them is jogging. Many people in Indonesia like jogging. It is very important to our body because it keeps our heart healthy. It also keeps us fit.

Recently, I started my intensive and extensive jogging with my friend Ruslan Letal who also study physics at the same campus with me. Actually, I've been jogging since I was in my first year at campus. Only, I often absent in several days. Sometimes I even only jogged on Sunday. But now, it's different because I believe that health is a must and there's no shortcut to obtain it.

Now, if we get up early in the morning in most Indonesian cities we will see an unusual sight. Lots of boys and girls and men and women are already up and busy. What are they doing? Yoa, they are excercising. Many will do jogging, and that will also be me. I bet you already know what jogging is. But to avoid missunderstanding, let me define jogging for you. Jogging is a gentle running. That's it! That means if you are running really fast, then you are not jogging, maybe you are being chased by a dog. LOL. People jog to realx themselves, to keep themselves fit, or simply to enjoy themselves. There are also many people who jog not to relax their body, particularly some boys, but to spot on girls back, or simply say, goggling. ROFL.

So, just how to do jogging? To do jogging does not need a lot of money. It is a cheap sport. Or we can even say that it costs zero. We only need a pair of running shoes, a sport shirts, shorts, and socks. Okey, let me tell you something about my jogging. Actually, I don't have any running shoes, sport shirts, shorts, and socks to jog. Then what should we do without these fittings? Put it simply, just use what you have. As for me, I subtitute running shoes with a pair of slipper (I asked Ruslan Letal his reason wearing shoes during jogging, and he said that wearing shoes made him feel comfortable and safety, even his shoes were not running shoes actually, lol) but if you have a sport-like shoes, it's better for you to use it because it's actually not safe using slipper when we're jogging. What about sport shirt? Easy, just use your daily T-shirt and if you don't have any, just go to hell, lol. You can also jog while listening to the music, but if you make that as a requisite to do jogging, your jogging will costs much money. Oh yes, if you have a dog, you can bring him along, but just assure him not bite every cute girl that he sees.

We can jog on the streets, in the big squares, in the park, in the stadium, etc. Because my campus is encircled by a streat, I just need to jog around the campus. If we want to make our body fit, we have to jog at least three times a week or everyday. So, don't jog only on Sundays. Why? first, jogging only on sundays can only make your muscle suprised everytime you jog, because it's not exercised to jog everyday or continuously. Second, it can't lead you to have a fresh and fit body. Third, if you jog only on sundays, I bet that you just want to goggle on dazzling girl/boy's back.

What should and shouldn't we do before and after jogging?
  1. Before we start jogging, do some exercise. It is called warming-up (hey Ruslan Letal, I finally found the english of 'pemanasan'). By doing this, our body and muscle will be able to adapt easily.
  2. Before we start jogging, we should not drink or eat anything. If we drink or eat something, moreover, especially if we consume a large portion, our stomatch will ache while we are jogging.
  3. After jogging, don't take a bath directly, we should wait for about fifteen minutes, or until our body gets dry. If we are still ni a sweat and take a bath, we will be sick.
As we know, nowadays our government is very enthusiastic to support the sports programme. And our government also provides many facilities. Recently, South Sulawesi's government held a gentle walk to celebrate the anniversary of South Sulawesi. And there were so many inhabitant participated in that event. See? The government provides facilities, and the society make use of them. But, whether there is a government's faciltiy or not, let's do sport if we want to keep our body fir and healthy. If are healthy, we can study and work very well, can't we? Or simply say "Healthy inside, fresh outside" like a commercial ad promotes.

I'm jogging, what about you? LOL (@visionasc)
